Sourdough Sticky Rolls

I made these last weekend with my leftover cup of sourdough starter. I've never made a roll before now. These were delish! The filling was walnuts, cinnamon & brown sugar. I used the recipe from "King Arthur Flour 200th Anniversary Cookbook"

I need to have a brunch so I can share these with more than Mr. PeakSeason & my brother.

I scored this a couple weeks ago with my MIL at an estate sale! Actually, she surprised me and bought it. YAY!!!!

I've been drinking coffee everyday using my new grinder. I have to use double the amount of beans. The coffee tastes so smooth and these is no grit at the bottom of my cup.

Too Hot!

I set 12 eggs last Wednesday. This weekend was way to hot inside.
My temps were at 106. I fried em! No more baby quail this year.

Time to name my three hens......

Since it was so darn nice outside this weekend, we repainted the clothes poles.
I got to wash all our sheets & blankets on the line. I also squeezed in a load of my own clothes.
I miss crispy towels.

I planted another strawberry plant, 4 flat leaf parsley & romaine.

My sister & I rode bikes on Saturday. We rode across the freeway to Biggby's for something frozen & caffeinated. We rode about 3 miles. It was perfect. My butt is a little sore from my seat.
I also rode to the fruit market on Sunday to pick up stuff for chicken kabobs for her birthday.

Clothes Lines

beforeit's tractor red

Dicky went by himself to Ace and bought paint for the clotheslines. Did you know Ace is the place? I told him, I didn't care what color he chose. Anything would be better than rusty silver paint. He arrived home with a can of tractor red spray paint. I was thrilled with his purchase.
I pulled up a camping chair and watched him paint. I am a supervisor! It needs another coat, but it will do for now.

after
OK, rain.... you need to let up so I can line dry some towels!

Poor little hen.

My girls started to lay on Friday (48 days since hatch). I found 2 eggs that night. On Saturday, I found the big one, after we got back from the farmers market. The right egg is elongated compared to the left. It was her first egg ever and that whopper popped out. Whoa!

(Side note: Weighed the Roo's at 7 weeks. One Roo is growing larger than the rest. Time to switch em up!)

I picked up a rosemary plant, dish rags & popcorn kernels while we was at the market. I also stopped at the Milano bakery and I bought day old sandwich buns (12 for $1.50) & mini lemon tarts. Dicky took my last $2.50 to buy white chicken chili for himself.

I spent the rest of the day planting lettuce, bunching onions, chives & spinach.

Later that night, Dicky had a show at The Berkley Front. "The Bad Hats" put on a good show. They played a couple new songs. My friends from knitting showed up and seemed to have a great time.

Thank you Marj for taking pictures!
Thank you everyone who showed up!

Next show, May 14th with Spaceband at The Old Miami.
